Dear BSNA and GBC Family,
We hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. It is truly inspiring to see how our families have come together (virtually) during this uniquely challenging time. We have been monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis around the globe and its rapid spread has significantly affected all of our day-to-day lives. Because of the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and due to various local as well as global constraints, the health risks involved, and travel and gathering restrictions, EC and BOT members have unanimously decided to postpone this year’s Combined BSNA and GBC convention until summer of 2021.
Whether it’s hosting meetings on Zoom or connecting overseas via Facebook Messenger/WhatsApp video, we are experiencing a whole new world. Thank you for your support during these unprecedented times.
Please take great care of yourself and your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sanjay K. Pandey

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Shri Arun Upadhyayaji early Monday morning, January 13, 2020, at Beaumont Hospital Farmington Hills, Michigan. He was 67.

Beloved husband of Rashmiji and adored father of daughters, Geetika (Manish Antani), and Radhika (Sagar Patel) Upadhyaya. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Jaiman and Nalan Antani and Prem Patel. He leaves behind his siblings, Anand & Nandini Upadhyay, Aruna & Satish Goswami, Anil & Rajyashri Upadhyay, Asha & Vijay Awasthi, Amita & Niraj Dubey and Arti & Kamal Parashar.
Not only was Arunji a devoted family man, he also gave back to the community. He was a life member of BSNA and a very active participant in all BSNA Michigan chapter activities. Dear BSNA family,
As we begin this new decade, we are working towards revitalization of our organization at all levels. We would like to update and enrich our membership and that entails a membership drive. There are many incentives on becoming a BSNA life member. Professional and academic mentoring, curated access to our matrimonial database, participation in the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)/certification, educate youth about our Vedic traditions and culture, database/website updates. Growing the life membership base helps us fund such ambitious initiatives, and aides in forward planning of our yearly conventions.
Looking ahead is one of the most important things we can all do and a new year is the perfect time. It is a reminder to renew your annual membership or become a life member of BSNA. Please find the membership form here. If you have been an annual member in the past one or two years, you can become life member by paying the difference. For example, if you have paid $35 as an annual member, you can pay $315 ($350-$35) to become life member. Similarly, if you have paid $70 in the past two years, you can pay $280 ($350-$70) and become a life member.
BSNA is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) organization. The contributions made to BSNA is tax deductible. Please join the organization to help us to help you and your families.
-You have control over doing your respective duty only, but no control or claim over the results. The fruits of work should not be your motive, and you should never be inactive (BG 2.47)

Dear BSNA Families and Friends,
On behalf of the new Executive Committee (EC), I would like to wish you, your family and friends a great year full of good health, spirituality, peace and prosperity.
Blessed by Dr. Sen Pathak, BOT Chairman, the transfer of charge for BSNA Presidency took place on December 30, 2019 by the outgoing BSNA President Shri Gopal Chaturvedi ji and EC to myself, the incoming president and the new EC, in a very cordial and professional atmosphere well attended by both outgoing and incoming EC teams.
The new EC team and I are very pleased to accept and assume the BSNA Presidency with great humility to serve BSNA effective January 1st, 2020 and carry it forward to protect, preserve and promote Brahmanic values, culture and heritage under the banner of BSNA. We will make every effort to enhance the reputation of BSNA, work together for its unity, recruit and encourage the younger generation and youth members to be more active within the BSNA family, and take BSNA to the next level (building on all the valuable work done by all over the years) to make it an even more vibrant organization. I thank all of you for having faith and trust in us. I invite all the BSNA members to help unite the Brahman community at large and bring the younger generation and youth to the forefront to serve BSNA. We have worked hard all these years to provide stability and a basic foundation for BSNA. Now is the time to facilitate an apolitical platform for the coming generation and help them to nurture the fruit of the tree founded over 25 years ago. Again, I appeal to you to help and support us in this endeavor in uniting the BSNA family.
On behalf of the new Executive Committee (EC), with due respect and honor, I sincerely thank the outgoing president Mr. Gopal Chaturvedi ji and EC members including Dr. Ashok Saraswat ji, Dr. Ajay Pandey ji, Dr. Lakshmi Shanker Dube ji, Dr. Keshav Shukla ji, Mr. Shiv Pathak ji, Mr. Gyanesh Dadhich ji, Mr. Satish Dubey ji, Mrs. Abha Dwivedi ji and Dr. Sukrit Mukherjee ji for their strong support and timely decision-making. I take great pride and consider it my privilege to have had the opportunity to associate myself with and serve BSNA as the Vice President with such an excellent and progressive team for the last three years as well as Executive Vice President for a year, and wish to receive their continued support and guidance in the future in my new capacity as President of BSNA. My special thanks and best regards go out to Dr. Sen Pathak ji for showering his blessings upon us during the transfer of responsibilities of the new BSNA President and EC. I would also like to thank Shri Mahendra Misra ji, Shri GNR Tripathi ji, Mr. Praveen Sharma ji and Dr. Sen Pathak ji for their great efforts and continued support in maintaining and enhancing the reputation of BSNA in their capacities. Moreover, I would like to thank Dr. Shri Kant Mishra ji, GBC President and BSNA BOT member and former president of BSNA for his continued guidance and support.
I congratulate and thank my excellent EC team comprising of very learned, experienced and dedicated people for their continued encouragement and support, and we will work collectively as a team to serve the BSNA family. I extend my special thanks to Sukrit ji for his time and effort to maintain our IT activities in a timely manner, and we are glad that he will continue as an integral part of our EC team to provide his services/support.
Finally, we wholeheartedly thank the General Body Members, BOT members, Chapter Presidents, Brahman families at large, the outgoing President and EC and their families for their continued advice and support to lead BSNA to the next phase of growth and development. Let us start the new year with this Shanti Mantra and pledge to live by it:
ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय ।
तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय ।
ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥
Om Asato Maa Sad-Gamaya |
Tamaso Maa Jyotir-Gamaya |
Mrtyor-Maa Amrtam Gamaya |
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||
Meaning:
1: Om, (O Lord) Keep me not in (the Phenomenal World of) Unreality, but make me go towards the Reality (of Eternal Self),
2: Keep me not in (the Ignorant State of) Darkness, but make me go towards the Light (of Spiritual Knowledge),
3: Keep me not in (the World of) Mortality, but make me go towards the World of Immortality (of Self-Realization),
